Welcome to the Oldington & Foley Park Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder website. What is Neighbourhood Management? Neighbourhood Management is a resident centered approach to improve the provision of public services and life chances for residents of the Oldington & Foley Park area. It is funded by a Government grant and the programme will run for 7 years. The funding supports a small local team and provides limited seed corn funding for residents and partners to try new ways of working. The principle is that local people and partners work together to find long term solutions to the problems that affect the area and to develop strong working partnerships. How did it happen in Oldington & Foley Park? The Pathfinder emerged as a result of two factors; the first and most obvious being that the area is one of the 10% most deprived in the country. The second reason is that Pathfinder results from the strong partnerships that already existed in the Neighbourhood and brought together residents, statutory agencies and the voluntary sector to work together to improve the lives of local people. Wyre Forest Matters (The Local Strategic Partnership) developed the initial bid with local residents and Wyre Forest Community Housing performs the role of Accountable Body and Employer for the Pathfinder Team. The Baseline To identify the key issues, the priorities and develop the actions for the Pathfinder, a detailed Baseline of the area was produced. The Baseline was central to allowing the Pathfinder Board and residents to understand the detailed nature and challenges to be addressed. The Baseline drew together Census, service performance information and the views of residents. This Baseline is now been used by partners to develop and prioritise their own service delivery in the area. Click here for a map of the Pathfinder area
